It’s getting hot where I live. I love the summer, it makes everything seems so much better and when the sun comes out, I start craving fresh salads. So this month, I want to help you discover some amazingly tasty and healthy alkaline salad recipes to experiment with. I know salads can get boring, especially if you only want to use alkaline ingredients, but it doesn’t have to be! There’s plenty of different alkaline salads recipes out there to keep you going for the whole summer.
The first alkaline salad recipe I’m sharing in quite some time is an incredibly tasty alkaline broccoli salad. I’m a huge fan of broccoli – it’s tasty, colourful and super healthy. Broccoli’s main nutrients include vitamin A and C, folic acid, calcium, and fiber. Broccoli is an absolute must-eat in any healthy diet.
Alkaline Brocoli Salad Ingredients
1 head of fresh broccoli
1 small red onion
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 grated carrots
1/2 red cabbage
Cut the ingredients into small bite-size pieces and combine. There’s really not much more to this super easy alkaline salad recipe.
Alkaline Grapefruit Salad Dressing Ingredients
1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tablespoon of honey mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons of agave syrup
pinch of sea salt (optional)
Juice the grapefruit, orange and lemon and add ingredients, mix well. Easy!
Alkaline Salad Recipe
I know, this is slightly different, and experimental salad, but we love it! I hope you enjoy this alkaline salad recipe and let us know what you think in the comments below. Did you like it, did you add or remove any ingredients? Feel free to experiment, and make this alkaline salad recipe your own!
I actually got this broccoli salad recipe idea from AllRecipes.com – but they made it in a pretty acidic way – by adding bacon, sugar and vinegar – and they were lacking some serious vegetable power. They didn’t add any grapefruit salad dressing either – which is a little out there, but at least it’s not the same old boring salad right?
